CBNG Joins UKWISPA to Support Innovation and Growth in the UK Wireless Broadband Sector
Cambridge, UK – 15 July 2025: Cambridge Broadband Networks Group (CBNG), a global leader in fixed wireless access (FWA) innovation, has today announced its membership with the UK Wireless Internet Service Providers Association (UKWISPA).

The move comes at a pivotal time for the UK’s wireless ISP community, as evolving spectrum regulations create new opportunities to reimagine connectivity at scale.
With over 25 years of experience and more than 350,000 radios delivered across 50 countries, CBNG plans to bring deep technical expertise and commercial insight to the WISPA UK membership base.
By joining UKWISPA, CBNG will work closely with UK WISPs to explore next-generation opportunities in the 26GHz and 40-42GHz bands, providing solutions that minimise total cost of ownership and drive return on investment (ROI).
Paul Wright, Chief Revenue Officer at CBNG, said: “UK WISPs are at a fork in the road with the advent of shared access licensing and expanded availability in the 26GHz and 40GHz bands. We’ve been innovating for years, and with our new 5G FWA platform – VectaStar NR – already deployed in North America, we’re keen to understand how we can adapt and refine this technology for the UK market.”
The membership will enable CBNG to engage directly with WISPA operators to better understand their business needs, technical preferences, and market challenges. As a result, CBNG will be able to better shape its strategy as it evaluates the development of new VectaStar NR variants optimised for UK deployment.
“Our objective is to co-develop solutions with the community – listening to their needs and responding with innovation that empowers customer growth,” added Wright. “VectaStar NR is designed to deliver multi-gigabit speeds over ranges up to 5km, using 3GPP-compliant 5G architecture without the complexity or cost of a full 5G core.”
With CBNG joining UKWISPA, the company plans to share its extensive support services with WISPA UK members, including network design, training programmes, and 24/7 technical support – all aimed at making operations more efficient and resilient.
Initial engagement will begin with a dedicated webinar introducing VectaStar NR and inviting open dialogue with members. Following the webinar, the CBNG team plans to conduct a series of seminars, 1:1 sessions, and on-site demos, providing UKWISPA members with opportunities to experience the technology first-hand at CBNG’s facilities in Cambridge.
